On Monday, Aug. 25 and Tuesday, Aug. 26, HVCC Natural and Applied Sciences Department faculty members Dr. Julie Friot and Dr. Sujatha Kadaba attended an on-campus workshop in the Science Center called “InnovATE BIO Undergraduate Research Special Topic Skills Workshop: Submerged Fermentation of Fungal Mycelia and Sustainable Feedstocks.”
The workshop was funded by InnovATE BIO of the National Science Foundation and instructed by Finger Lakes Community College staff members James Hewlett, Director of Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing and Jessica Hailey, Technical Specialist and Project Manager.
The two-day training aimed to help 2-year faculty develop undergraduate research experiences in industrial biotechnology.
